Ernie watches Bert.
Ernie is such a great, multilayered character. On the one hand (as we saw yesterday) he can be crafty and cunning, to the extent that he can beat a con man at his own game. On the other hand, he also has the capacity for great sweetness and sincerity and childlike naivete. Bert is also very funny here, with some excellent subtle eyebrow work, and kudos to him for making an effort to be patient and not just lashing out.
This is a good lesson to learn early on, that people don't like to be stared at. However, if I have something interesting to read, I'm pretty good at tuning out distractions. I would get distracted by someone violating my personal space, though.
It seems like there was something else I wanted to say, but I can't remember what it was. Oh, well. If I think of it later, I'll update it.
