I forgot to mention: I saw the creepiest thing in the world yesterday

I was at Savers, which is this big, department-store-like second-hand store, and in my experience they don't seem to be overly picky about the types of merchandise they accept; sometimes the merchandise is damaged, etc. Yesterday I found there a white, hollow, porcelain baby's head with holes for eyes.

Can anybody think of any reason why anyone would want such a thing?

The only possible reason I can come up with is that its a "starter" for people who want to make their own porcelain doll, like paint it and everything, and who apparently have eyes to go in the eye sockets.

I don't think Savers quite knew what to do with it either. It was amongst the candle-holders, so I guess that's what they thought it was, but I don't think that's what it's supposed to be, because candle-holders typically have a hole in the top for the smoke to escape, and this thing didn't. (I'm trying to decide if this would have made it more or less creepy. At least then we would have a pretty clear idea of what it was for.)

On a somewhat related note, why can I never remember how to spell the word "porcelain"?
