So, I've been having some major Castle withdrawals. I got Season 1 on DVD as a birthday present, and that helps, and there are five episodes from last season still available on Hulu, and that helps, but it's not enough. I was counting on Psych starting up again this summer to help calm the delirium tremens, but apparently it's not coming back on until fall either. (Whaaat?)

I was at Target a few days ago and happened to see that they had the Castle Season 2 set on sale for $14.99. That was probably more than I needed to be spending on a nonessential item, but it was such a good deal that I couldn't pass it up. Regular price is $34.99, and 24 episodes on five discs for fifteen dollars? It was not so very long ago when you couldn't even get a two-disc DVD set for fifteen dollars. I think my mom and dad paid close to $30 for Season 1, and that was only 10 episodes on three discs. In the words of Castle himself, "it's so worth it!" I am able to get my Castle fix, and let me tell you it is a blessed relief.

Drug metaphors aside, it does kind of fill a void for me and allow me to enjoy the suspense of waiting to find out what happens next season. There is something to be said for delayed gratification. This way we can have the fun of speculating what's going to happen next. Once Season 4 premieres in the fall and we find out what happens, all those possibilities will go away.

By the way, did anybody in the UK watch it on Channel 5 last night? And if so, what did you think?
