Today is a momentous and bittersweet date in Sesame Street history. Today, the 43rd season premiered. By coincidence (or is it?) today would have been Jim Henson's birthday. By funny coincidence, today is also Steve Whitmire's birthday, and by sad coincidence, today is also the anniversary of Jeff Moss' death--which makes me especially sad because Jeff Moss basically wrote the soundtrack to my entire childhood, and I never even knew his name until long after he had passed.
All things considered, I can think of no more fitting tribute than this:
My hat is off to all three of you gentlemen, as well as everyone who has ever been involved in Sesame Street, ever. Thank you.
