Great Halloween costume ideas always come to me eventually.

This year I was having a particularly difficult time thinking of a costume (not helped by the fact that I've put a lot of weight back on; not all of it, but a lot of it). I was just going to dress up as a generic princess type, but I didn't like that idea because I always like to add a subtle/personal/creative touch to my Halloween costumes.

Finally today I got the idea to dress up as Red Riding Hood; specifically Red Riding Hood from Once Upon a Time,1 (hence the omission of "Little"). It seems so obvious now that I'm shocked it took me this long to think of it. The best part is that all I needed to buy for it was a red hooded cloak, which I was able to get at Wal-Mart for $10. Score!

Speaking of score, I also went to Target and found the 20th Anniversary DVD of The Princess Bride for $7.50 and The NeverEnding Story DVD for $4.75. Awesome! It makes me want to have an '80s fantasy movie party.

1Not to be confused with THIS "Once Upon a Time", although how awesome would it be if the Witch Kerfumbly were to turn up in Storybrooke?!
