This sketch could end for me after that first line: "You are a terrible mirror! ...No reflection on you, of course!" That joke is so multilayered I could sit here and talk about it all day (don't worry, I won't).
Then the mailman comes in (played by Jim Henson) and he's so determinedly casual and mundane in the face of the Count's melodramatic weirdness, and yet seems to have some eccentric ideas of his own ("You got bats in this place...what are you, a bird-watcher or something?" Because that makes sense.)
It's sad when the Count says that he doesn't have any friends. Happily, that changed once he toned down the creepy factor a little (well, a lot).
Speaking of creepy, his laugh seems to be evolving in this sketch; recognizable as the iconic laugh, but hovering just at the edge of madness.
